I have built my career working for many of the biggest national and international magazines, newspapers, and wire services. When I started shooting weddings, very few had ever seen such a unique and honest approach. Often, it required some education, and a leap of faith from clients because my hands-off approach was not the norm in wedding photography. Now, 15 years later, the advent and popularity of digital photography has opened up the floodgates of creativity in the photography world. There are some people out there producing some incredibly creative work. Through it all I am reassured, more than ever, that reality provides far more beauty, tenderness, compassion, and humanity than the best creativity ever could.

How does one capture humanity with a camera? Trust!

It is this trust and comfort that allows you [the subject] to let down your guard and reveal true and honest emotions. When combined, inspiration, intuition and insight, are the attributes that separate me from others. I take tremendous pride in this skill set because it is not something that can be bought in a camera store or manufactured in Photoshop. It cannot be assigned with an arbitrary title or rented like office space.
